The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has announced the introduction of a fenestration course from the association’s education program. The “Fundamentals of Fenestration” provides basic terminology and standards for windows, doors and skylights, covering both residential and light commercial products, as well as commercial and architectural applications. The online course is designed for use by several audiences, as well as qualifying for continuing education credits.
Professionals New to the Industry
This course serves as an introduction to the FenestrationMasters program, especially for the Associate level. Candidates will learn a basic working vocabulary and become familiar with functions and requirements of fenestration products.
Experienced Professionals
Industry veterans can learn terminology used in AAMA educational courses in order to avoid confusion among regional and other differences in the way some terms may be used.
Homeowners
The information in this course may be useful to consumers in the selection and purchase of windows, doors and skylights in order to improve working knowledge of these products.
Outside Accreditations
Upon completion of this course, one hour of continuing education credit can be earned, as recognized by these organizations:
- American Institute of Architects (AIA) – course also qualifies for Health Safety Welfare (HSW) credit
- International Code Council (ICC)
“Fundamentals of Fenestration” may be purchased from the AAMA online store. Three-month unlimited access to the course costs $40 for AAMA members and $80 for non-members. Customers will receive a link to the course within two to three business days of placing an order.
