Deceuninck North America, a designer and manufacturer of high-quality systems for windows, doors and outdoor living, is introducing an advanced fiberglass technology based on materials from Bayer MaterialScience. Rovex is a polyurethane composite technology that includes bio-based materials and offers superior structural, thermal and environmental performance.
The Rovex technology offers strength, thermal performance and chemical resistance. It is applicable in a wide variety of industries: in building and construction, in transportation and in marine environments. Deceuninck has been using the polyurethane technology incorporated in Rovex in the production of its Innergy thermal reinforcements for some time. The logical next step was to use the Rovex technology to make the sash and eliminate the need for the reinforcement altogether.
Rovex is the product of advanced engineering and world-class material science research, putting together Bayer’s experience in custom polyurethane resin system development and Deceuninck’s expertise in design and manufacturing. The technology offers strength, stability and flexibility without using styrene or peroxide, making the end product an alternative to aluminum and traditional polyester fiberglass composites.
In addition to integrating Rovex into its ICON 8000 Series Doors, Deceuninck is offering the technology as a complete, in-house manufacturing solution. The company provides engineering support, design and optimization; tooling and production; and custom pultrusion to meet specific production needs.
