A tri-fold brochure, “LEED v4 and Piping System Design,” from Aquatherm North America (Aquatherm NA) discusses North America’s ISO-compliant, peer-reviewed, third-party certified Type III environmental product declaration (EPD) for a piping system.
Although that description is a bit of a mouthful, it means Aquatherm has piping systems that directly contribute to LEED v4 credits. Aquatherm NA commissioned the EPD along with a life-cycle assessment (LCA) to assess the cradle-to-gate impact of its polypropylene pipe. Through independent verification by NSF International, Aquatherm’s piping products can be used as part of the 20 products required for LEED certification.
