Designed to raise awareness for roofing systems and the role they play in our everyday life, ARMA is proud to celebrate National Roofing Week and join the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and other allied organizations in the weeklong campaign.
National Roofing Week, being held June 4-10, also seeks to emphasize the importance of proper roofing installation and maintenance; the importance of hiring professionals to perform those jobs; and the importance of worker safety.
Reed Hitchcock, executive vice president of ARMA, states, “National Roofing Week is a chance for manufacturers, contractors and homeowners to pause and recognize the impact of asphalt roofing, whether it’s because of curb appeal or performance. It also provides ARMA an opportunity to showcase and educate on the benefits of installing an asphalt roofing system, whether it’s for a home or a commercial property.”
Asphalt shingles provide an aesthetic range of shapes and colors and offer a level of performance due to their resiliency and cost-effectiveness. They are also easy to install and maintain. Asphalt shingles are recyclable and at the end of their life cycle can be retooled to be used in other roofing projects as well as in other fields such as paving.
During National Roofing Week, property owners and the roofing community will be encouraged to celebrate and participate in a social media outreach campaign using the hashtag #NationalRoofingWeek. Each day will consist of a different theme and the hashtag will be used to promote topics like employee appreciation and training, charitable projects, and a celebration of signature roofing projects.
ARMA will be featuring recipients of its Quality Asphalt Roofing Case-Study (QARC) Awards Program throughout the week, showcasing asphalt roofing projects from across North America. ARMA encourages member companies, roofers and homeowners alike to also share photos of their asphalt roofs and post about what makes them beautiful, affordable and reliable. Homeowners and roofing professionals can share pictures of themselves in front of their asphalt roofs or photos with their roofing contractors on ARMA’s LinkedIn page or by using the campaign hashtag on Twitter.
“Roofing systems aren’t often top-of-mind for most until a problem arises,” said Reid Ribble, CEO for NRCA. “We want to change that. National Roofing Week is an opportunity for industry professionals as well as homeowners across the country to celebrate roofing and to learn more about how important roofing systems really are.”
