Landscape architecture firms experienced stable conditions for the third quarter of 2017, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects’ quarterly business survey. Billable hours held steady, although inquiries for new work dipped. Plans to hire over the next quarter fell.

It is slightly below the 86.1 percent reported for the third quarter of 2014.
Fewer than half of responding firms with two or more employees (49 percent) say they plan to hire during the fourth quarter of 2017, a retreat from the second quarter 2017 survey (52.3 percent).
