Throughout February, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) will honor the contributions of African American landscape architects and highlight the tools and resources available to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession.
A few of the highlights this month include:
- Launch of the ASLA Black History Month web page.
- In-Person & Virtual Screening of the documentary “Claiming Open Spaces,” followed by remarks from the film’s producer Austin Allen, ASLA, Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Texas Arlington.
- Educational webinar- Decolonizing Design: Black Narratives in Landscape Architecture
- Highlighting the achievements of Black Landscape Architects, past and present, online and on social media with #ASLAdiversity
