The ASTM International committee on performance of buildings (E06) is sponsoring the Symposium on Whole Building Air Leakage: Testing and Building Performance Impacts, April 8, 2018, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, California. The workshop will take place in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee.
The symposium will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas related to current air leakage research; the attention on trends in whole building air leakage, design criteria, construction, and performance verification; and identify opportunities for new and revised standards.
Topics for this symposium include but are not limited to:
- Whole building air leakage testing of large or complex buildings.
- Whole building air leakage of residential buildings and compliance with codes and above-code program requirements.
- Whole building air leakage rates and their impact on load calculations and energy modeling results.
- The cost of whole building air tightness and the ROI in BECx and whole building air leakage testing.
