Bostik Inc. has announced that another contest has been added to its Bostik Signature Spaces series of design competitions, The Art Of Hardwood Flooring Design Contest. This will be open to architects, designers and other wood flooring trade members.
Scott Banda, Bostik’s director of marketing and business development states, “Due to the interest and success of Design ‘N Gather, the international mosaic design competition which we co-sponsored last year, we came up with the idea to have a similar event. However, having it featuring wood flooring as our key design element. Together with our partners, the National Wood Flooring Association, MGM Resorts International, Oshkosh Designs and Eagle Bay Hardwood Flooring, we are openly inviting those within the wood sector to get their creative engines in motion and create their masterpiece using wood flooring.”
The creative design of the Grand Prize Winner will be considered by MGM Resorts for installation in the lobby of a steakhouse located in Las Vegas’ Park MGM resort, currently under development by MGM Resorts International and Sydell Group. MGM Resorts’ Monte Carlo property is undergoing a nearly $500 million transformation over the next two years to become Park MGM and The NoMad Las Vegas. Additionally, the winner will receive a trip for two to Paris, courtesy of Bostik.
Banda, who with Joyen Vakil, senior vice president of design & development for MGM Resorts International, spearheaded this program, adds, “The winning design will be chosen by a panel of judges, all with leading credentials in wood flooring, architectural design or both. Those who want to take part in the competition must register. It can be done by clicking on this link.
“We are excited about this contest for so many reasons!” exclaims Michael Martin, president & CEO of the National Wood Flooring Association. “First of all, it’s great to be partnering with people such as those at Bostik and MGM Resorts. And of course, we want to get our industry more involved with architectural & design specification. Being a part of Bostik Signature Spaces – The Art Of Hardwood Flooring Design Contest certainly sets our association in that direction.”
The hardwood floor installed will feature Bostik materials, including its Ultra-Set SingleStep2, adhesive, moisture control and sound reduction membrane.
Vakil says, “Opening this fall, the steakhouse design will complement Las Vegas’ culinary scene.”
“We want our contest registrants to get just as stoked about wood flooring design as those who participated in our previous competitions relative to their respective creations,” concludes Banda. “Without question, I can assure all registrants that our judges will be looking for something that takes wood design to the next level. After all, the winning design might be on display on the Las Vegas strip!”
Bostik Signature Spaces – The Art Of Hardwood Flooring Design Contest registration will be open until June 23rd.
