From construction to dedication, Carrier and its employees are proud to support the latest Habitat for Humanity home in Indianapolis. Carrier is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The home, on the northeast side of Indianapolis, was built with the aid of Carrier employees who spent hundreds of hours volunteering from late summer into the fall. In addition to volunteer hours, Carrier also donated home heating products.
“Carrier has been recognized for making people comfortable in their homes for more than a century and building homes for some of our community’s most deserving residents is a wonderful opportunity to share our expertise,” says David Meyers, vice president, sales, Carrier. “It’s a privilege for our employees to serve our community and to know our efforts have provided comfortable homes for at least 20 central Indiana families since 1996.”
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis expressed its appreciation for the company’s support of its mission.
“We’re indebted to Carrier’s commitment to provide the opportunity for deserving families to purchase and own affordable homes,” says Jim Morris, president, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis. “Carrier provides hundreds of hard-working volunteers, heating and cooling systems, and financial support to help advance the Habitat for Humanity mission to build homes, communities and hope. Carrier and its team embody what it means to invest as a company in their community.”
Carrier, through product donation and the continued investment of employees’ time, is committed to working with non-profit organizations to help build stronger communities around the country. Earlier this year, Carrier donated five home comfort systems to Habitat for Humanity of Los Angeles. In 2015, two ductless systems were given to that same chapter.
