DUECHTING PUMPEN’s WRX series was developed for tough conditions and abrasive products. It is highly resistant to the stress caused by sliding wear (fine particulate matter, such as sand) and the impact stress of larger particles (such as gravel).
The design characteristics of these single-stage centrifugal pumps are such that allow an oversized wall thickness for the wear plates on the suction and drive side of the pump. Even the closed, two or three-vaned impeller, is designed for use in harsh environments with high stress loads. Shaft sealing can either by stuffing box or mechanical seal. The bearings are durable, oil or grease lubricated, heavy duty bearing,s which are used to ensure long service life and also reduce vibration and noise.
The hydraulic components of the WRX pump are made of various grades of cast iron, and are selected by the Düchting engineering for each particular application. Standard material for wear parts is high-chromium abrasion-resistant cast iron with hardening of min. 550 HV. Other materials are available on request.
Additional adaptations of the WRX series include its usage as an underwater pump in a vertical cantilever design and a counterclockwise rotation design for internal combustion engine drives.
The WRX-pump is designed to operate at low speeds reducing the wear and thereby lowering operating costs and extending the life of the pump.
Given the robust design and capability of handling flow rates up to 22,000 gpm and pressures up to 150 psi (16 bar) the WRX series is ideally suited but not limited to the use in sand and gravel plants, such as suction dredgers. Other target markets would be the iron and steel industry, coal and potash mining, chemical industry, and the sugar industry.
