The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Champion Momentum Series 97.5 percent and above AFUE gas furnaces from Johnson Controls the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2017 designation, when the furnaces are combined with touch-screen Communicating Control thermostats. The ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2017 designation is awarded to the most efficient products among those that qualify for ENERGY STAR.
The modulating design of these furnaces maximizes comfort by automatically adjusting capacity, heat and airflow, from 35-100 percent of nominal capacity using a variable-speed ECM blower motor that provides efficient air circulation. The furnaces also feature EnviroTrak technology, which customizes operation to the conditions of any climate. When paired with the Champion Momentum Hx Thermostat with Wi-Fi-enabled touch-screen, the units deliver even greater precision in custom operation.
Technicians will appreciate the 33-inch height, reinforced cabinet doors and ¼-turn knobs, which allows the units to install in tight spaces with ease. A slide-out blower provides access for service or cleaning, and system self-monitoring enables diagnostics. Contractors can access the system remotely, when granted permission by the owner, to evaluate system operation.
