Midea has made available its EVOX Inverter heat pumps, which are available in 1.5- to 5-ton capacities and are up to 50 percent smaller than conventional units. All are capable of 100 percent heating output at -4 F. Designed in close collaboration with U.S. HVAC contractors, the EVOX system can be mixed and matched with existing equipment (even non-communicating) and adapts to most installation conditions. BI-COM technology enables the system to work with the EVOX communicating wall control or existing 24V thermostats or smart controls, such as Nest and Ecobee. The EVOX system can be installed as a complete set or added into existing HVAC systems, without changing current duct design, refrigerant lines or communication wires. AHRI estimated the product can lower consumer’s annual energy bill up to 30 percent compared to a conventional system without sacrificing comfort.
