The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announces Dutton & Garfield Inc., headquartered in Hampstead, N.H., as the first metal building assembler in the New England area to earn the prestigious AC478 accreditation administered by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). AC478, Accreditation for Metal Building Assemblers Inspection, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers committed to excellence.
Achieving this accreditation demonstrates that Dutton & Garfield, which services New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northern Massachusetts, has the personnel, organization skills, experience, knowledge, management procedures, and commitment to assemble metal buildings in accordance with code, specifications, costs and deadlines. Some of the requirements for this accreditation include: documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, OSHA training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documentation.
“Dutton & Garfield has a long history as a leader in the metal building industry. Steve Webster’s service on the Butler Advisory Council and work as Past President of both MBCEA and the Metal Buildings Institute is proof of this leadership.” noted Art Hance, MBCEA president, while acknowledging the company’s achievement. “Now, Keith Wentworth continues this tradition by achieving AC478 Accreditation for Dutton and Garfield. We extend our congratulations and welcomes the company to the elite of metal building contractors.”
Keith Wentworth, Vice President of Dutton & Garfield, Inc. was very excited to pursue AC478 accreditation. “As a 3rd generation Butler Builder, we are very proud to be the first contractor in the New England area to achieve AC478 accreditation.” said Wentworth. “This accreditation shows end-use customers, architects, engineers, and contractors they have hired a company that truly cares about planning, cost, quality, and safety. We are always seeking to improve how we operate our business and AC478 lays the groundwork for us to monitor and improve our operating procedures and track our progress year after year. We want our customers to know that we value each and every project.”
