Named after the founding president of the association, this prestigious award honors an individual who selflessly and determinedly works for the success of MCA and the advancement of the metal construction industry at large. The recipient is driven by the same intentions as Swaney: To advocate for the betterment of metal construction through research, education and collaboration that transcends personal or company gains.

MBCI President Bill Coleman says, “Ken has been an invaluable member of our family for 28 years, and I am overjoyed that the industry is recognizing him for his many contributions to the research and technical advancement of metal construction.”
Buchinger is actively involved in several trade associations and has written numerous articles for various industry publications and delivers presentations for various organizations.
