“The ability to participate in state contracts will bolster our minority business activity in the northeast region,” says Thom Cain, Northeast regional sales manager at Metal-Era. “As a minority-owned business, we look for every opportunity to expand our availability to better serve our customers. Organizations that have made a commitment to work with minority businesses will know that by working with Metal-Era, they are building diversity within their network of suppliers and business partners.”
DMWBD’s mission is to support the equality of economic opportunities for MWBE’s and to eliminate barriers to their participation in state contracts. They also strive to promote the business development of MWBE’s through education, and encourage state agencies that are engaged in contracting activities to awards a fair share of state contracts to Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. A complete list of minority and women owned businesses affiliated with Empire State can be found on the Empire State website directory.
