The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) has announced Daniel Simmons, principal deputy assistant secretary, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), as the keynote of its 13th Annual Federal Market Workshop in Washington, D.C. Simmons oversees technology development in the energy efficiency, renewable power and sustainable transportation sectors. Simmons’ speech is titled, “The ESPC and UESC Programs: Successfully Deploying Public/Private Partnerships.”
Terry E. Singer, NAESCO executive director, says “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Simmons as well as a great group of speakers who can give the audience an up to the minute report on the various federal initiatives underway to accelerate the use of energy efficiency at federal buildings through ESPCs and UESCs.”
The NAESCO Federal Market Workshop was held at the FHI 360 Conference Center in Washington, D.C. Workshop attendees included federal energy and facilities managers; federal contracting and procurement officers; federal energy program managers; federal energy policy officials; ESCO representatives; public utility energy efficiency directors and vendors active in the ESPC and UESC markets. Speakers included representatives from the Departments of Energy, Defense, Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as from the Coast Guard, Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, and the General Services Administration.
