The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA WT 1-2018, “Wireless Communications Technology for Fire and Life Safety Systems,” which defines wireless technology currently available for life safety applications.
“This paper was designed to give insight to consumers, installation companies, fire service personnel, building code officials, end users, fire protection engineers, and electrical engineers; anyone interested in utilizing wireless technologies for life-safety applications,” says Denise Pappas, executive director, technical standards at Valcom, and chair of the communications committee of the NEMA fire, life safety, security, and emergency communications section.
NEMA WT 1-2018 is available as an electronic download on the NEMA website.
