The Retrofit
Alorica, an Irvine, Calif.-based customer-engagement-services company, opened a regional call center in a former BB&T Bank building. The 830-job facility is one of Owensboro’s largest-ever economic development projects, said Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin. Alorica employs more than 92,000 people at 150 locations worldwide.
The 5-story, 52,000-square-foot building underwent a massive transformation inside and out. The call center now has a modern, open concept with an “industrial tech” feel. The fifth floor is dedicated as an employee break area with hangout space and gaming systems, as well as a rooftop deck with a view of the riverfront and downtown. The ground floor is mixed use and includes a Bar Louie restaurant, which has 110 locations across the country.
