DEWALT continues to expand its offerings for the mechanical and plumbing trades with the introduction of the 20V MAX* 1″ PEX Expander, which is made in the USA with global materials, and the 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake. These tools operate off of the continually growing 20V MAX* System from DEWALT, which now totals more than 100 products.
The 20V MAX* 1″ PEX Expander (DCE400) can expand 3/8- to 1-inch PEX-A Tubing. A popular alternative to copper pipe, PEX-A (Polyethylene Cross Fiber Pipe) is commonly used in commercial and residential installation of pipework for potable drinking water, radiant heating and residential fire sprinklers. Five interchangeable PEX expander heads in 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1 inch are available. The tool rotates each of these heads evenly to ensure consistent expansion around the diameter of the pipe. The 20V MAX* 1” PEX Expander features a dual-sided, heavy-duty hang hook and belt hook that can be mounted on either side of the tool. A bright LED light helps to illuminate the work area. In addition, the long trigger can be actuated at any point, making it easy to use in a variety of orientations between joists or under sinks.
The lightweight 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake (DCD200) provides a cordless, powered solution for cleaning clogged drains. This allows service plumbers to get in and out quickly without the hassle of cords or tedious manual options. The 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake comes with a 5/16-inch by 25-foot cable that is coated with black oxide to help prevent corrosion and a steel inner core for rigidity to feed the snake down the drain. Compatible with replacement cables from a variety of leading manufacturers, the versatile 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake accepts 1/4- and 5/16-inch cables up to 50-feet long and 3/8-inch cables up to 35-feet long with an assortment of different ends for various applications (sold separately).
The Drain Snake has a partially sealed inner drum that makes it easy to remove and change out cables. It also helps retain the water and material that it collects, preventing the spread of debris around the work area. A fixed outer housing is separate from the inner drum. This helps prevent a spinning drum from coming in contact with other surfaces such as the user or a finished vanity. Other features of the 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake include a variable speed trigger; brushless motor; and three-mode, pivoting LEDs to enhance visibility when under sinks or in other dimly lit areas.
Available in fall 2017 where DEWALT products are sold, the 20V MAX* 1″ PEX Expander (DCE400) and the 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake (DCD200) will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
