Johns Manville (JM) announced the addition of CI Max White insulation to its complete line of building insulation products. Johns Manville CI Max White is a high efficiency polyiso foam sheathing designed specifically for exposed interior applications. CI Max is approved for use without a thermal barrier and provides an attractive and durable interior finish. It is suitable for wall or ceiling applications in commercial, residential, agricultural and industrial buildings.
CI Max White provides a continuous layer of insulation to reduce thermal bridging. Additionally, it has an acrylic-embossed facer that is aesthetically appealing, hard-wearing and easy to clean. In side by side testing, CI Max White had significantly higher puncture resistance than a well-known competing product. CI Max White complements JM’s existing continuous insulation polyiso products, which include AP Foil for concealed applications and CI Max Silver for exposed applications. JM also offers UltraFast CI Fasteners, Plates and Flashing Tape.
JM also announced that its entire line of foam sheathing products has received International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) approval. CI Max has been added to ICC-ESR-3398, providing evidence that it meets code requirements for exposed wall or ceiling applications in both residential and Types I, II, III, IV, and V commercial construction. ICC-ESR-3398 was initially published for AP Foil on November 1, 2012, subsequently was updated to include air and water barrier approvals on October 1, 2013, and most recently was expanded to include CI Max, 4.5 inch thickness of JM AP Foil and JM¹s private label UltraFast flashing tape for air and water barrier applications.
ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are used by building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers, and others to provide a basis for using or approving rigid foam insulation in construction projects under the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
