Friedrich Air Conditioning Co. has announced its latest developments in portable units, ductless systems and room air conditioning units.
Increasing Use of Portables
For building owners looking for spot A/C solutions, Friedrich has re-designed its single-hose ZoneAire Compact portable unit.
This three-in-one 115 volt unit serves as an air conditioner, a dehumidifier and a heater. Friedrich ZoneAire Compact features a LED display, rotary dial four-speed fan and temperature adjustment controls, along with a hose attachment. The Friedrich ZoneAire Compact line has been expanded to include a 12,000 Btu (6,888 under SACC criteria) unit. This model also offers bonus heat performance capabilities with 12,300 Btu (7,100 under SACC criteria).
At 17-inches wide, the Friedrich ZoneAire Compact has swivel casters and built-in hose storage compartment, making it an option for personal cooling or heating on the go.
Ductless Demand
Ductless systems have become popular in the U.S. thanks to its quiet operation, energy efficiency and application options without the need for ductwork. The industry is responding to a rise in ductless demand by offering more options along with professional installation. As awareness of this category grows, Friedrich continues to expand its line-up of ductless solutions to provide year-round heating and cooling.
Its two lines of ductless systems are based on SEER efficiency. The mid-tier Floating Air Series comes in five models, with 115 volt and 230/208 volt heat pump units. The top-tier line from Friedrich is the J Series, which is available in more than 1,000 multizone configurations, including wall-mounted, ceiling cassette and concealed duct models. Customers can choose from single-zone cooling models, single-zone heat pumps that cool and heat, and multi-zone heat pumps that cool and heat multiple rooms.
This year Friedrich introduced ENERGY STAR qualified 9,000 and 12,000 Btu models, capable of delivering up to 28 SEER/12.5 HSPF, with ambient heat pump operation down to -13 F, as part of the company’s J-Series ductless product line.
A/C Solutions
Friedrich room air conditioning units, including its Kühl line, have been a smart solution for several years. Kühl offers options, ranging from 6,000 to 36,000 Btu in cooling-only, electric heating and cooling and heat pump models.
New for the Kühl line in 2018, Friedrich plans to introduce its updated FriedrichLink Wi-Fi. This cloud-based digital solution features simplified user experience, streamlining remote management. The Wi-Fi capabilities allows for programming with the ability to connect multiple units, as well as demand response and energy management capabilities, via connected devices.
