Green Charge Networks, a provider of intelligent energy storage, has announced the launch of a new white paper, “The Next Energy Frontier: Power Efficiency”. The white paper addresses the rising electricity cost facing America’s businesses. The paper also examines the state of energy efficiency initiatives and what will be the next frontier in savings: Power Efficiency.
Green Charge Networks empowers commercial, retail and industrial businesses to take control of the power side of their monthly electric bill. “Demand charges” based on the maximum throughput of energy consumed at peak during the billing period have skyrocketed for businesses, often making up 50 percent or more of the total bill. This cost could be moderated through intelligent energy storage and sophisticated software, giving rise to this new class of power efficiency solutions. Efficient distribution of energy not only helps businesses, but also delivers on the Smart Grid promise for utilities.
“Rising electric bills is a big part of a business’ operating expense. Average energy pricing has held steady, but power demand pricing has been rising sharply,” says Vic Shao, CEO at Green Charge Networks. “The goal of this white paper is to highlight the challenges in the energy efficiency industry and how software and energy storage can play a significant role by focusing on power (kW) instead of energy (kWh).”
Key topics in the Power Efficiency whitepaper include:
Energy efficiency is no longer efficient
The problem is POWER (kW), not energy (kWh)
How to program our way out of the peak use problem
