Each installation includes a variety of fixtures from an induction product line, ranging from the 120-watt U.S. ShoeBox, 150 W Classic Wallpack and 200 W Classic Flood models. The fixtures’ modified optics and variable dimming exceed the parking lot and exterior requirements tied to facility specification criteria. The induction light fixtures, which instantly come on, are 50 to 70 percent more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 100,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance-free for up to 10 years.

THE RETROFIT
Greyhound Lines serves more than 3,800 destinations across North America and provides affordable travel to nearly 25 million passengers annually. In 2012, the transportation giant recognized a need for a lighting upgrade at a number of its terminals, including Chicago; Dallas; Houston, Texas; and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In an effort to improve security and become more energy efficient, the company sought a commercial lighting solution for these locations’ parking lots, building exteriors and security areas.
“Given the amount of fixtures and the size of each installation, there were stringent guidelines to follow, as well as security and safety concerns in each public area,” comments Ryan Miller, an Atlantech representative. “EverLast was proactive in the development of several features in the parking-lot lighting solution, which eliminated service-related challenges and provided Greyhound with a very accommodating lighting solution.”
