Crooked Pint Ale House in Onalaska, Wis., got a full front-of-house remodel when Jarrod Byers took over ownership in 2019. Along with moving the bar and creating a new seating layout, Byers also directed a section of exterior wall be removed. In its place he added an all-glass Haas Door Model CA-320i garage door.
“There are a lot of open-air dining spaces in the Twin Cities with similar features, so we thought it would be great for our location,” says Byers, owner-operator of the Crooked Pint Ale House. “Whether open or closed, the garage door brings a whole new sense of ambiance to the space.
“When the Haas garage door is open, we have a motorized screen drop down to keep bugs out of the restaurant. Our guests always want to sit next to the open air. We’re very pleased with the garage door. This is a high-quality, highly functional and wonderfully attractive centerpiece of our location.”
Stylish Garage Door
Byers worked with Overhead Door of 7 Rivers Region Inc. to select the 16-foot wide, almost 9-foot-tall garage door along with the screen door. The Haas Door Model CA-320i was ordered in a dark bronze anodized color for the stiles and rails. The full glass sections feature insulated tempered clear glass.
Strong and reliable, CA-320i garage doors boast rust- and corrosion-free aluminum rails and stiles with a heavy-duty frame. Ideal for restaurant locations, the large door maximizes the light brought into the Crooked Pint Ale House. The CA-320 Series provides the largest door size maximums, the most color/wood grain finishes, pass doors and impact glazing options.
“The use of a garage door as part of the restaurant setting is unique to our property,” says Byers. “There are 11 other Crooked Pint Ale House locations. Some have accordion-style doors, but none has a full garage door.
“We made the right decision investing in this Haas Door garage door. It brings in natural light and showcases our gorgeous outdoor patio area.”
Haas Door is located in Wauseon, Ohio, where the company manufactures steel and aluminum residential and commercial garage doors. The family-owned company, which holds memberships in IDA and DASMA, produces products that are sold throughout North America.
