Simpson Strong-Tie is supporting relief for flood victims in Kentucky with a donation of $15,000 to the American Red Cross.
Starting July 26, a series of powerful storms brought unrelenting rainfall over parts of eastern Kentucky, causing extreme flooding in surrounding neighborhoods and displacing vast numbers of residents. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in the affected counties. To date, over 35 deaths have been confirmed and more than 450 people are staying in 11 different emergency shelters across the state.
Red Cross teams are on the ground working alongside state and municipal agencies to determine the needs of impacted communities. There are currently more than 440 trained Red Cross disaster workers assisting to provide shelter, meals and other support. To make a contribution and aid in recovery efforts, visit redcross.org or send a donation to your local Red Cross chapter.
