Simpson Strong-Tie Renews Support for Habitat Strong Program

Simpson Strong-Tie announced it has renewed its support of Habitat for Humanity’s Habitat Strong program for the fifth consecutive year. Simpson Strong-Tie remains a sponsor of the program.

Habitat Strong is designed to promote the building of homes that are durable, resilient and strong. Habitat homes in areas susceptible to flooding, earthquakes, hurricanes, high winds and wildfires can benefit from Habitat Strong building standards, which include a suite of fortified codes and best practices developed specifically to make homes more resilient in the face of severe weather and other disasters. Available to all local Habitat organizations across the country, the Habitat Strong program was created to offer Habitat for Humanity homeowners safety benefits at affordable costs.

Simpson Strong-Tie increased its monetary contribution to the program from $85,000 in 2015 to $150,000 in 2017 and now contributes $200,000 every year. The company has donated a total of $800,000 to the program.

“The work that Habitat for Humanity has devoted to the Habitat Strong program has paid off immensely. Not only are Habitat affiliates building better, they are demonstrating to the building industry how to construct more resilient homes at minimal increased costs,” says Simpson Strong-Tie CEO Karen Colonias. “The program continues to grow exponentially, and we are proud to continue to support this critical work.”
