ADL Ventures is working directly with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) on recruitment for the E-ROBOT (Envelope Retrofit Opportunities for Building Optimization Technologies) Prize. Winners receive up to $700,000 in non-dilutive funding. The goal of the prize is to look for minimally invasive, low-cost, automated and holistic building envelope retrofit solutions that make retrofits easier, faster, safer, and more accessible for workers.
In addition to up to $700,000, winners also receive in-kind support from the National Labs. In addition to the publicity and resources associated with selection by DOE / NREL, the winners benefit from a much more streamlined funding process versus traditional collaborative awards and grants, allowing them to hit the ground running quickly, with minimal restrictions.
