SWITCH Lighting, maker of LED light bulbs, has received a Special Recognition Award by the U.S. Department of Energy’s LED Lighting Facts. SWITCH was honored for its commitment and dedication to manufacturing and designing quality lighting products in each category and market that it serves. This year, LED Lighting Facts recognized 18 organizations for their support for the LED Lighting Facts program, and for their work in the LED lighting industry.
The LED Lighting Facts program is part of the U.S. Department of Energy and was created to ensure that the performance of all solid-state lighting (SSL) products are accurately represented as the products reach the market. It was developed to manage user expectations and prevent any performance claims that come with the introduction of new technologies to consumers.
“SWITCH is honored to receive this Special Recognition and to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for our work in LED Lighting. LED Lighting Facts acknowledges organizations who work toward the advancement of LED lighting products, and SWITCH is excited to be a partner in this program,” says EC Sykes, CEO of SWITCH Lighting. “This award of special recognition further proves our dedication to provide the best quality LED lamps available at the best price for consumers.”

SWITCH LED A-Lamps use up to 85 percent less energy as an incandescent and last 25 times as long. Unlike many competitors, SWITCH bulbs can be used in any orientation, any fixture, and any location. They fit into standard light sockets, are dimmable, and can be used in the same manner as any incandescent or compact fluorescent light bulb. SWITCH bulbs pose no environmental hazards and have no toxic ingredients (unlike the mercury found in CFLs).
SWITCH’s family of LED bulbs use the company’s patented LQD Cooling System, a thermal management system. The LQD Cooling System is a blend of the company’s overall electronic design and proprietary technologies: a coolant made of liquid silicone, and a patented, highly efficient and reliable electronic driver. SWITCH is up to 40 percent more effective at diffusing heat and cooling LEDs than typical air-cooled LED bulbs.
