The renovation of the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino includes a new synthetic cedar shake roof.

When the remodeled Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino reopened its doors, they did so with a new synthetic cedar shake roof overhead. A Multi-Width Shake polymer roof from DaVinci Roofscapes tops a covered walkway that runs the entire length of the building plus two porte cocheres and a high roof over the hotel.
“This is a roof that adds to our entire renovation effort,” says John Dade, chief of engineering at Hoover Dam Lodge. “We appreciate its durability and believe it would improve the look of any building.”
Located four miles from the Hoover Dam in Boulder City, the hotel and casino stretches out on the road towards one of Nevada’s famous attractions. The renovation included hotel guest rooms, casino, cafe, general store, and Player’s Club.

“There are many different rooflines on this project that add to the visual appeal of the structure,” says John Latham, business development manager with Technicoat Management Inc. , installers of the roof system. “During the roofing selection process we walked the hotel project team through the engineering process, comparing different roofing products and costs. Ultimately the look of the cedar shake roof from DaVinci influenced them most.”
According to Latham, even though this was the first time their team had installed DaVinci composite roofing, the project went smoothly. “There were no major issues with the project and we found the simulated shake roofing similar to installing a wood shake shingle,” says Latham. “We’d recommend the synthetic cedar shake DaVinci products in the future for other clients.”
The team members at DaVinci Roofscapes develop and manufacture polymer slate and shake roofing systems with an authentic look and performance.
