Encompassing the Woven Image concept of Functional Oasis, four directional colorways have been added to the Quill and Arrow story. Designed for indoor/outdoor upholstery application, these textiles offer colorfastness to light along with ease of care.
Referencing nature, the designs are created from an abstracted version of a leaf shape. Quill, the smaller of the two, combines a solid small scale leaf motif with contrasting ground color, while Arrow comprises a larger scale leaf shape as an outline. Originally released in 2010 these Woven Image designs have been given a revival with a new palette of directional hues. The four colorways comprise of sunshine, emerald, marine and tangerine combinations completing a collection of 9 colorways in total per design.
Both Quill and Arrow are solution dyed, which means the color is applied to the liquid polymer before it is extruded into yarn, this provides high performance results particularly for colorfastness to light, which allows the textile to be used in indoor/outdoor applications, such as poolside furniture. From an environmental perspective solution dyed textiles are considered to be optimal as this method allows for reduced water usage and emissions compared to conventional dyeing processes. Both Quill and Arrow are produced using certified green energy (100 oercebt renewable resources) and the yarn holds an Oeko-Tex certification.
Reviving the indoor/outdoor upholstery textiles, Quill and Arrow, with a collection of colorways maintains a contemporary edge to the Woven Image indoor/outdoor collection combining design with ease of care solutions for commercial projects without compromising on handle and price competitiveness.
