Boral Roofing LLC has introduced Boral Tile Mortar to the Florida and East Coast markets. With the color pre-mixed into the mortar there is no guessing the right oxide quantity to color match the tiles. It is a one-step, fiber-reinforced mortar for tile-roof weather blocking – just add water and mix.
Boral Tile Mortar contains an Integrated Water Repellent (IWR) additive to help prevent efflorescence. The solution provides ease of installation and is offered in numerous colors. It is ideal for use with clay and concrete roof tile systems on both new and re-roof applications. The mortar meets ASTM C-270 requirements.
It has been offered in the Texas and Midwest markets for several years and will now benefit from the improved engineered IWR additive product.
It is a Type S mortar that is engineered to provide resistance to shrinking and cracking. It is not suitable for attaching roof tiles. The mortar is available in 80-pound (36.3-kilogram) bags that offer 10-30 linear feet of coverage that varies depending on tile profile and method of installation. It is sold by the bag, pallet (42 bags) or 14-pallet mixed truck load.
