Sarah Richardson—designer, TV host and producer, author, entrepreneur and product designer—is teaming up with CertainTeed Gypsum to endorse its recent campaign, “Why Walls Matter.” This Wall-to-Wall Solutions program empowers homeowners to select drywall that’s best suited for their needs—whether it’s to produce a healthier home, a restful home or a more durable home with walls that can clean the air, control sound and/or withstand everyday abuse.
Through this partnership, Richardson will have access to CertainTeed Gypsum’s innovative product solutions, which may make appearances on an upcoming HGTV series currently in development. The partnership also includes opportunities for CertainTeed Gypsum to be featured in prominent design décor publications that Richardson contributes content to, as well as event appearances, collaborative website promotion, social media content and more.
“As someone who is well-versed in all aspects of building and design, I’m excited to partner with a company that is devoted to manufacturing high-performance, sustainable products that meet the needs of today’s homeowners,” says Richardson. “I’ve always enjoyed that my role enables me to share information and inspiration to consumers about new and exciting materials to incorporate into their home building or renovation project. It’s important for homeowners to know that they have a choice when it comes to their walls and that walls matter—it’s not ‘just drywall.’ Their choice of wall material can enable them to live in a healthier, quieter and more comfortable home.”
Richardson is the host, co-creator and co-producer of more than 250 episodes of design television that span five HGTV series targeted directly to the needs of a contemporary audience. This programming includes “Room Service,” “Design Inc.,” “Sarah’s House” (as well as “Sarah’s Cottage” and “Sarah’s Rental Cottage”), “Sarah 101,” and “Real Potential.” Her most recent series, “Sarah Sees Potential” aired in the U.S., summer of 2015. Richardson leverages her influence as a designer and renovator by serving as Good Housekeeping Magazine’s Home Design Director and columnist since 2014. Additionally, as an instant bestselling author of Sarah Style and At Home: Sarah Style, she offers an in-depth look at a variety of renovated homes ranging from city chic contemporary spaces to idyllic country retreats.
“Sarah Richardson serves as a true design inspiration for homeowners and consumers. The niche she has created allows her to share ideas, products and materials used to build beautiful homes,” says Dawn Decker, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Gypsum. “As an influential figure in the design community, we are confident that Sarah’s support will help us establish greater awareness for consumers and how their choice of drywall can impact the interior wellness of their home.”
Richardson will utilize creative applications of gypsum products, including but not limited to:
- AirRenew – Offers enhanced indoor air quality by utilizing the industry’s first formaldehyde-absorbing technology, which actively removes formaldehyde from the air, converting it into a safe, inert compound. Once captured, the chemicals cannot be released back into the air.
- SilentFX QuickCut – A noise-reducing drywall designed to manage the challenges of today’s modern families while maintaining peace and tranquility in the busiest of homes.
- NO-COAT – The NO-COAT Structural Laminate (SLAM) design is a superior drywall corner system that delivers strength and durability, saving on labor and supplies. The total system includes rolls, pre-cut stick lengths, arch sticks, tools and accessories for easy installation and flawless results.
- Habito – A revolutionary high-performance drywall product, which is the industry’s strongest and hardest 1/2-inch drywall. Habito features technical benefits previously unseen in the drywall category. It eliminates the need for threaded drywall anchors or nailing to wall studs for fixtures less than 30 pounds, offering consumers a seamless way to mount and remount the newest televisions, speaker systems and other home electronics and décor.
