Zurn Industries LLC announces its product expansion through the acquisition of Green Turtle Technologies Ltd., Green Turtle Americas Ltd. and Filamat Composites Inc. (collectively “Green Turtle”), a leading provider of composite wastewater pretreatment solutions for commercial, institutional and industrial applications. Green Turtle has offices in Charlotte, N.C., and Toronto. It employs approximately 100 people.
The move expands the Zurn portfolio of internal grease and oil interceptors to applications external to commercial buildings. The new technology serves the fast-growing, non-residential market segments and reflects the company’s mission to drive growth through innovation and acquisitions.
“Zurn is excited about the addition of Green Turtle and its position as a market leader, giving us the ability to offer another environmentally friendly solution to customers,” says Craig Wehr, president, Zurn. “Green Turtle’s Proceptor and Retroceptor products provide an excellent complement to the existing Zurn offering.”
Founded 20 years ago, Green Turtle brings a patented portfolio of gravity fed, fat, oil and grease separation technologies to Zurn. This includes the new Proceptor fiberglass interceptor system for grease capture and retention, and oil and solid separation, combined with cost-effective holding tank systems that efficiently manage fluid dynamics within a smooth, corrosion-resistant interior.
“This acquisition by Zurn validates our technology and position in the marketplace,” adds Roland DuBois, CEO, Green Turtle. “The Green Turtle team looks forward to working with Zurn to accelerate the growth of our position in the interceptor markets.”
