The EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA) has announced the winners of the 2018 EIFS Hero Awards. The Hero Awards Program represents a twist in resuming the annual EIMA project awards program that was first started in the 1990s. Awards were presented during a ceremony at the 2019 EIMA Annual Meeting, at the Woodlands Resort outside of Houston.
Everyone agrees, the EIFS Hero Awards program is here to stay,” says Peter Daechsel, EIMA 2018/2020 president and manager of BASF Wall Systems. “The awards ceremony was a highlight of the 2019 EIMA Annual Meeting and has been a conversation topic since the presentation. Each of the projects uniquely showcases the benefits EIFS provides, and how diverse the system can be.”
Submissions were gathered throughout 2018, concluding in November with a total of 33 EIFS projects entered in the competition. The projects were then compiled and presented to a panel of judges chaired by Dr. Jeffrey L. Beard, now of Drexel University’s College of Engineering. The panel created two different award categories, Awards of Merit and Hero Awards, and one EIFS project was awarded Hero of the Year.
