Eldorado Stone has received the Large Business of the Year award from the Franklin County Area Development Corp. at its 32nd annual Industry Appreciation Dinner. The selection was based on its economic, civic and cultural contributions to the economic well-being of Franklin County.
“We are honored to have made such a positive impact on the community since opening our new Greencastle facility less than a year ago,” says Ramsay Hawfield, vice president of marketing and product development at Eldorado Stone. “This plant has not only increased operations and production, but also vastly improved conditions for our workers and enhanced our ability to service customers.”
In 2017, Eldorado Stone relocated to consolidate activities from two preexisting locations, an aging manufacturing facility near Greencastle and a distribution facility in Hagerstown, Md., to a 432,000-square-foot building in the Antrim Commons Business Park in Franklin County, Penn. The plant employs more than 250 people with potential to hire additional staff. The facility incorporates a system designed to improve productivity and reduce waste materials by repurposing wastewater.
The Franklin County Area Development Corp. strives to promote issues that affect the community and help maintain the high standards and working conditions within the county. Every year it hosts a dinner honoring employers of all sizes that help the county flourish and prosper. More than 400 people attended the dinner this year.
