Webinar Will Provide Information on Sustainability Strategies for Intelligent Building Technologies

Technology advances over the past decade have made learning environments more efficient, personalized and comfortable, but these advances come at a cost. And the costs are busting the budgets of school district and college and university operations, leaving them cash-strapped as they attempt to implement sustainability measures. Ironically, some of these measures are enabled by the same intelligent building technologies that strain budgets.

A webinar that provides information to education-based administrators, architects and engineering staff, and energy services providers on developing a sustainability strategy and how and where to find resources to overcome these challenges will be conducted Thursday, July 19, 2018. The webinar begins with a discussion of the scope of sustainability-related measures, examines the role of technologies such as the IoT and provides tips on how to find funding and resources.

  • Webinar Title: Intelligent Use of Intelligent Building Solutions: Understanding the Challenges and Available Solutions to Improve Campus and Learning Environments
  • Presented by: EMA, School Planning & Management and College Planning & Management magazines, and ONICON
  • When: July 19, 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time
  • Registration Link: webcpm.com/1807b
  • Presenter: Ray Prosise, director of government business development at Onicon, has been providing energy measurement and savings solutions and instruction to intelligent building customers since 1982. These customers include K–12, higher education, and government spaces. His experience has allowed him to work with key engineering firms and manufacturers that provide solutions within these structures.
  • Continuing Education Credits: AIA 1 LU, 1 USGBC LEED General Education CE, 1 point CxA & EMP CE (Many other certification bodies and licensing boards accept AIA credits, attendees should check with their certification body).

The Energy Management Association is dedicated to providing education, training and certification to energy management professionals on behalf of building owners. Its Energy Management Professional Certification (EMP) features a commissioning-based curriculum that maximizes energy efficiency and optimization of building systems. The EMP is ANSI Accredited and Recognized by the DOE Better Buildings Workforce.
